  • The pass lies at a picturesque location with the rivers Beas and Chenab that lies to the southern and northern side of Rohtang Pass.
  • Rohtang Pass is famous for its picturesque views of the valley and various hidden waterfalls.

  •  The ancient city of Chamba lies on the banks of the River Ravi and has a rich ancient history that dates back to the 2nd Century BC when the region was ruled by the Khasas and the Adumbaras and eventually the Rajput rulers of the Maru dynasty.
  • Despite of being a small town, due its picturesque location between the Himalayas, Chamba is one of the famous tourist spots in Himachal Pradesh.
  • The ancient temples and the various picnic and trek spots make Chamba a definitive place to visit.

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • is located in the upper reaches of the Kangra valley in Himachal Pradesh and is placed at an average altitude of 1,475 meters above sea level.
  • The city is surrounded a thick cover of deodar cedar trees and is one of the major strong holds for the Tibetan refugees and the seat of the 14th dalai lama of the Tibetan sect of Buddhism.

  • Famous: Khajjir : It is nicknamed as the mini Switzerland of India, Khajjiar is a small hill town located at 2000 meters above sea level at a short distance from Dalhousie.
  • Kalatop Wildlife Reserve : The high altitude forests of the Kalatop Wildlife Reserve are located at an average elevation of 2,500 meters above sea level.
  • Daikund Peak : The mountain’s highest point towers at a monolithic height of 2,745 meters above sea level. The Dainkund Peak is often termed as the singing hill.
  •  Ganji Pahari : A famous 5 kilometer uphill walk in Dalhousie, Ganji Pahari gets its name from the bald patch of the Barkota hills of the Himalayas. 
  •  St. Francis Church: Steal away a moment’s peace and catch some serenity at St. Francis Church. This church is counted as one of the most beautiful churches in the city and was built in the year 1894.
  • Panchpula: Panchpula is a perfect getaway to sample everything nature has to offer.

  • It is an ancient town, which was founded by the Katoch Dynasty which is the oldest surviving Royal Dynasty in the World.

8. Kasauli

  • Famous : Kasauli Brewery, The Mall, Christ Chruch, Sunset Point, Manki Point, Barog.
  • Located at an average elevation of 1,800 meters above sea levels, Kasauli is a cantonment town and a popular hill station in Himachal Pradesh.
  • Kasauli is often described as a hiker’s paradise and being a small town can be covered mostly by foot.

    • Famous : Sujanpur Tira, Nadaun and Deotsidh Temple.
    • Due to its pleasant climate especially during the winters, Hamirpur is a popular tourist destination.
    • The town also has the highest density of roads and is thus one of the most accessible areas of Himachal Pradesh.

    11. Parwanoo

  • Parwanoo is located in the Solan District of Himachal Pradesh and is spread across the Shiwalik Mountain range of the Himalayas.

12. Solan

  • Located on the Punjab-Himachal Border, Solan lies on the lower ranges of the Himalayas and is more of an industrial town with various industries.
  • A beautiful city in Himachal Pradesh, Solan has ancient temples and monasteries that attract hundreds of tourists and devotees every year.
  • Solan has one of the oldest breweries in the country and is popularly known as the mushroom capital of the country owing to the amount of mushrooms produced every year.
  • Solan is also called as the city of red gold as it produces bulk quantities of tomatoes.
  • The Shoolini Mata Temple and jatoli Shiv Temple are must-visits for both devotees and tourists.
  • One of the most famous monasteries in this region is the Yundung Monastery.

13. Pragpur

  • Pragpur is a small town located in the Kangra Valley and is situated at an average elevation of 610 meters above sea level.
  • It is considered the best location if you want to explore the attractions of the Kangra valley and is a popular tourist destination.
  • The climate of the town is pleasant throughout the year and is also a popular pilgrim destination.

14. Sirmaur

  • Also known as the Peach bowl of India, Sirmaur (or Sirmour) is located in south-eastern region of Himachal Pradesh.
  • The town was founded in 1090 AD by Raja Rasloo of Jaisalmer and was a princely state during the British rule in India.

15. Chail

16. Una

  • Famous : Pong Dam, Chitpurni Temple, Thaneek Pura, Kaleshwar, Kila Baba Bedi Ji.
  • Known to be the gateway to Himachal Pradesh, Una lies at an average elevation of 369 meters above sea level and is the lowest lying city in the state.
  • Being close to the state of Punjab, Una is known to be revered for its distinctive Sikh influenced culture which distinguishes it from the rest of the cities in Himachal Pradesh.
